The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation required a large volume of sensitive material destroyed (undisclosed). It was critical that these materials be securely destroyed to prevent negative financial and regulatory risks.

Re-Source Recycling coordinated a pick up of the sensitive material and executed secure delivery to its Ministry of Environment Licensed Recycling and Product Destruction Facility. The materials were processed via manual separation (to facilitate recycling of materials) and then thoroughly destroyed via high speed shredding. The client was given a Certificate of Destruction along with photos and videos for additional security assurances.

Destruction of Pandemic Masks

200 Tons Of Pandemic Masks

In preparation for a worse case scenario pandemic health crisis, the government purchases and stocks respiratory masks for the civilian population. These respiratory masks have a life span. At some point, they expire. The Ministry of Health had a requirement for the expired inventory to be securely destroyed and recycled. It was important that these now expired masks be destroyed to prevent them from being mistakenly used as a preventative measure and cause massive health hazards.

Re-Source Recycling, with it’s extensive experience destroying and recycling medical equipment and accesories, was hired to effectively destroy and recycle the pandemic masks. With the use of their high speed industrial shredders they securely destroyed all the masks and recycled the residual materials into a construction grade plastic lumber product. A Certificate of Destruction/Recycling was issued with supporting video and photos.

A Major online retailer of Fashion Handbags and Luggage wanted an environmentally friendly solution for the disposal of a trailer load of on-line consumer returns that were deemed non-sellable. After consultation with Re-Source Recycling a strategy was devised to have all metal zippers, buttons and fasteners removed and recycled. The textile portion of the product was shredded and residual materials were used as a filler in a construction grade plastic lumber product. A Certificate of Destruction was issued along with photos and video which demonstrated the entire process.

All Product Destruction projects are important but expired/spoiled/tainted food and beverages carry additional significance. If consumer goods are simply sent to landfill there is a significant chance they will be recovered and re-enter the consumer market for re-sale. Packaged food and beverages that are disposed of via landfill carry additional risks because of the health hazards they pose to the consumer. A Major Adult Beverage Manufacturer had 60 tons of expired beverages to be destroyed and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.

Re-Source Recycling effectively shredded the packaged product to separate the liquid from their containers. Both liquid and packaging were recycled – liquid via composting and packaging via traditional methods. A Certificate of Destruction was issued at the completion of the project.

Multi Million Dollars Gift Certificate Inventory

Gift Certificates

A Major Canadian Coffee/Donut chain had a multi-million dollar inventory of gift certificates that required secure destruction.

After extensive client consultation, Re-Source Recycling devised a strategy to arrange secure pick up of the gift certificates via a bonded transport service. The entire shredding process was video taped and additionally monitored by a third party security company. The gift certificates were destroyed and the shredded paper was recycled and converted to recycled paper. A Certificate of Destruction/Recycling was issued.
